LIZ STERLING

Liz is a seasoned art advisor with over 25 years of experience in the global fine art market, specializing in strategic acquisitions and sales, valuations, and philanthropic planning. As both Principal at Delancey and Greene and Partner at Sterling | Teel Capital, she advises a wide range of clients—including private collectors, fiduciaries, family offices, and estates—on the thoughtful development, management, and valuation of significant art collections. Her expertise spans Impressionist, Modern, Post-War, Contemporary, American Art, and Design, and is grounded in a deep understanding of both market dynamics and long-term collection strategy.

Liz began her career at Christie’s, where she led the American Art Department, before moving to Sotheby’s, where she served as Chairman of American Art and Director of Private Sales. In these roles, she was instrumental in securing major estate consignments, facilitating international acquisitions, and executing high-profile private sales and auctions. Today, she continues to provide trusted, discreet counsel to leading collectors, guiding them through acquisitions, deaccessions, and legacy planning with a tailored, strategic approach. Known for her market insight, negotiation expertise, and commitment to philanthropy, Liz is a valued perspective in shaping and stewarding important art collections.

Specializing in contemporary art, Jordan Pieper works with a range of clients within the firm to coordinate and advise on acquisitions and deaccessions. Supporting collectors at all levels and working to further hone their collections and interests, Pieper sources work globally for his collectors. Prior to joining Delancey and Greene, Pieper worked at PDX Contemporary Art in Portland, Oregon, where he worked closely with over 30 contemporary artists strategically placing their work in public and private collections worldwide.

Margot is a specialist in American art with 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles spanning every facet of the art market, including private advisory, galleries, and international and regional auction houses.

Prior to joining Delancey and Greene, Margot spent nearly a decade as Vice President and Senior Director at Hirschl & Adler Galleries, where she led private sales, curated exhibitions, and represented the gallery at premier art fairs. Earlier in her career, Margot spent 12 years at Christie's, where she served as Senior Vice President and Head of American Art Sales. There she advised collectors and institutions, secured important consignments, directed major American art auctions, and developed lasting relationships across the art market. Before Christie's, she was Associate Director of Fine Arts at Weschler's Auctioneers & Appraisers, in Washington, D.C., and began her career at Skinner, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts.

Margot is a certified appraiser under the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices. She holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Art History and History from Boston University and has pursued advanced studies in arts administration and appraisals.

MOLLIE SMITH

Mollie Smith's experience spans both institutional and commercial sectors of the art world. She began her career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she developed a strong foundation in development and institutional partnerships before expanding into the contemporary market through roles at Mitchell-Innes & Nash and Delancey and Greene. Having recently returned to Delancey and Greene in an expanded capacity, she brings a thoughtful understanding of both the primary and secondary markets with experience supporting artists, collectors, and exhibitions.

Mollie earned her B.A. in Art History with Honors from Boston University, where her award-winning thesis examined feminist artistic responses to political violence in postwar Germany through the work of Katharina Sieverding, Astrid Klein, and Rosemarie Trockel. Her academic background informs her broader interest in contemporary and feminist art, bringing a research-driven perspective to client advisory and collection building.
